The Mohawk Valley Continuously Operating

Receiver System

Mohawk Valley Community College has a Z-Max dual frequency GPS precision surveying system from Thales Navigation that is continuously collecting data 24/7. The continuously operating receiver system (CORS) stores L1/L2 static data at 10 second epochs in RINEX file format. The data files are available free at the following ftp site. You will need Internet Explorer to access the ftp site, Mozilla and Netscape do not work. Click here to download RINEX files from the MVCC CORS FTP site.

ftp://gps-base.mvcc.edu/cors/dualfreq/rinex/YEAR/DAY/mvcc250g.zip
ftp://gps-base.mvcc.edu/cors/dualfreq/rinex/2004/250/mvcc250g.zip

2004 = year
250 = Day of that year
g = hour of that day (g = 6th hr)

This ZIP file contains the RINEX data for each 60 minute session for the year 2004, day 250 of that year and the 7th hour (6am to 6:59am) of that day indicated by the "g" at the end of the file name. Time of the stored file is related to UTC time. At the end of each UTC day there will be 24 individual data files with 60 minutes of data (1 for each hour a thru x), plus a single file (ie: mvcc2500.zip) containing the entire days data.
